The song considers the gap between a public image and a person’s more complicated private reality, responding to how people form opinions from what they see in the media. Emeli Sandé and Naughty Boy wrote the song, with Sandé’s soulful writing giving Rihanna space to sound both candid and self-assured. “Half of Me” was released as the 15th track on Unapologetic (Deluxe Version) on 19 November 2012. It was not released as a single, but reached number 75 on the UK Singles Chart. No chart-duration figure is available. The song was produced by Stargate and Naughty Boy.
